Partnership with Sustainable Logistics NYC

Partnership between Wind Support NYC and Sustainable Logistics NYC.

Wind Support NYC and Sustainable Logistics NYC are thrilled to announce their partnership to offer a solution for low emission last mile delivery of goods transported on sailing cargoes such as Grain de Sail II.

This partnership extends to utilizing Milea Truck’s Workhorse Electric trucks for the last-mile delivery within New York City, aligning with Mayor Eric Adams’ Blue Highways Initiative and Governor Kathy Hochul’s efforts to reduce truck-related air pollution in the state.

Grain de Sail II docked at the South Street Seaport in New York City on Wednesday, April 10th. Loaded with 300 tons of goods, the 160-ft vessel, using sails as the main source of propulsion, is specially designed to minimize CO2 emissions by more than 90%.

Wind Support opened on April 10 the world’s first sail-transported products boutique at the Skipper Lounge, 193 Front street at the South Street Seaport.  Operating until June 15th, we will feature exclusively four esteemed French brands, including Grain de Sail, Groix et Nature, 727 Sailbags, and FinX Motors, offering a unique experience of French craftsmanship.

“Building on our promise towards sustainability and technological innovation in freight transport, working with Sustainable Logistics NYC allows us to bring those carefully curated products at the Skipper Lounge on an end to end low emission transport”, says Laurent Corbel, CEO of Wind Support NYC.

On this momentous occasion, Wind Support extends sincere gratitude to the City of New York for its support and collaboration in welcoming Grain de Sail II to its shores. We extend our deepest appreciation to our esteemed partners and collaborators, including the South Street Seaport Museum and Sustainable Logistics NYC, for their invaluable contributions to realizing the vision of sustainable maritime transport.

“Together, we embark on a journey towards a more sustainable future, where innovation and environmental stewardship play pivotal roles in shaping a healthier planet for generations to come”, adds Laurent Corbel.
